Spring Term Menu

Happy new year to you all! Hope you had a good break over Christmas and welcome back to the Spring term, and more delicious and freshly prepared meals from Pam and her team in the kitchen. Here is the new menu for this term from abm – please click on the link below to view it. Hard copies were sent home with pupils during the last week of the Autumn term and there are also some spare copies available in the foyer at school. You will see that there are some tried and tested favourites, such as Lasagne, Shepherds Pie and the popular Wednesday roasts, as well as some tasty new additions such as Minced beef hotpot and Cheese & leek croquettes. Fish fingers and salmon fishcakes are also available on most Fridays this term. We hope that the pupils will continue to enjoy the variety of dishes on offer at Sherston, and do let us know what you think of the new menu by posting your comments here on the blog.

Abm have planned a variety of lunchtime events this term, such as a Bush Tucker Trial for Key Stage 2 pupils on Australia Day as well as more What’s cooking in the Wok and Olympic theme day meals. Watch this space for more details!

Hi, where do we find out the dates of the special theme days, do they go up on the board at school? Thanks.

    • Hi. Thanks for your post. The theme days are publicised in advance here on the blog, and the menus are displayed on the noticeboard outside school, as well as in the dining hall at school. We also normally remind parents about theme days a week or two beforehand in the school newsletter. The next Olympic theme day will be at the end of January – the theme is Australia and it coincides with Australia day and a Bush Tucker Trial for Key Stage 2 pupils on that day. We will post the menu and further details up here shortly.

Hi, I was wondering if it would be possible to have Fromage Frais available instead of yoghurt which my children don’t like because of “the bits.” Also, would it be possible to have cold (chilled) custard at all, for some strange reason my two don’t like it warm!
    thanks

    • Hi! Thanks for your post. Fromage frais would be a good alternative to yoghurt – we will definitely feed it back to abm, so that they can take into account when they are designing the new menus. We’ll also pass on your comment about the cold custard, to see if it is possible for the kitchen staff to serve some that way.
